Who knows where our power comes from? Why do we buy power the way we do and not some other way? How might the EPA affect the price we pay for power? What will happen to our power supply in the future?
These, and many other questions, are constantly on our minds here at the Hannibal Board of Public Works. We have been in the business of providing electric power to Hannibal residence since 1886, and the fact that we take responsibility for our distribution system with the city of Hannibal is a big advantage as we enter the marketplace for power. However, wholesale power prices can change by the hour. It is a very unstable market and we are doing everything we can to keep power costs under control. Bob has addressed a few of these issues in his latest Guest Column appearance in the Hannibal Courier Post.
